Holly Buckner
CEO | OWNER | GROOMER
I grew up loving animals - aspiring to become a veterinarian. I have volunteered around several places, including but not limited to zoos and veterinary practices. I worked as a veterinary technician for several years, and there i learned a lot that I still carry with me. I became a groomer after leaving the veterinarian world; I always wanted to be the one to do the shaving on the animals when I was a technician, so I knew that grooming would just fit right in!
I learned under another groomer for a while, and then I started branching out on my own to pick up new tips and techniques. I have now groomed since 2015, and I still love every second of it; I love how I can be creative every day and that my job is never monotonous.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Zoology, through Friends University and am an AKC SAFE, Fear Free, and CPR Certified Groomer. I always pursue relevant certificates, and I love to learn new things that will help me create a better outcome and experience for you and your pet.
I wouldn't say I have a favorite breed or animal I like to work on, but by far, the most rewarding to groom are the difficult dogs that I have been able to rehabilitate.
I pride myself on the high-standard of care and services that I offer. I have a number of clients who have become more like family, and customers who consider me to be an integral member of their family. I hope I get the chance to meet your lovely pet soon!

GROOMER
I graduated from Buhler High School in 2020, and after high school, I went to HCC for a year for my general classes.My job choices have recently led me to Holly’s Pet Shoppe, where I love taking care of everyone’s fur babies.I also have a fur baby of my own; her name is Meika, and she is a Pointer/Lab Mix. She is my whole word! Meika is obsessed with tennis balls and loves to run, so I spend most of my free time, playing fetch with her.

This year, I uprooted my little family from Kentucky to Kansas with the hopes of us finding community, living sustainably and homesteading, and we found it! I was also given the opportunity to shadow Holly herself and learn the ropes.
I have always loved dogs (and cats - especially Sphynx) and have been interested in learning how to professionally groom animals, so I am very excited to be a part of the team at Holly’s Pet Shoppe!

DOG TRAINER
You may recognize Kaley as our Dog Trainer here at Holly's Pet Shoppe! Kaley graduated from the Penn Foster Dog Trainer Program, and she is American Kennel Club (AKC) and Pet CPR Certified; she is currently working towards Service Dog Training Certification.
Kaley has both dogs and cats in her home, and she has done lots of training with her personal dog, who has Canine Good Citizen - Advanced (CGCA), Service Dog, and Trick Dog titles, to name a few - just last year, she started Dock Diving with her dog, and he has received his Dock Junior title; he is going to Regionals this year!
